2020 September to December Registration Information

We are pleased to share that our 2020 September to December program schedule and registration information is now available. Please visit  https://skatescbc.ca/2020-2021-fall-winter-spring-programs/ for more information. Program fees will be outlined on the registration website (Uplifter).

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Registration for our CanSkate, StarSkate and Ice Dance programs will open on Monday, August 31st at 12:00pm. Positions on each session are limited and will be on a first come first serve basis. StarSkate participants are asked to communicate with their private coach to determine which sessions they should register for if you have not already done so.

Due to the decreased numbers of skaters allowed on the ice at any given time as a result of COVID-19 social distancing policies, our costs will go up. We recognize that this is a difficult time for many families. To mitigate a substantive increase, we have been working hard to decrease costs in the operating budget. SCBC will also offer a payment installment plan to assist families in managing session fees.

All programs will start the week of September 8th.

CANSKATE

We are excited to be able to offer CanSkate sessions once again. Due to policies and procedures currently in effect as a result of COVID-19, skaters must be able to stand, move and recover from falls independently to be eligible for registration. Coaches will not be providing hands on assistance to skaters.

As such, registration will be open to skaters returning to our program at the CanSkate Stage 2 level or higher. If you are unsure of the level of your skater, or if your skater is new to our CanSkate program, please contact [email protected] to discuss eligibility for participation in our September to December CanSkate program.

STARSKATE

Our bronze, silver, gold and platinum levels will all be (2) day a week programs. Skaters are asked to communicate with their base coach to determine which two session times they should register for. If a day is full, the skater will be required to select another day to fulfill their 2-day session requirement. Skaters who are looking for additional training time are invited to communicate with their private coach about availability on daytime ticket ice sessions.

Online off-Ice conditioning classes (via zoom) are included in all StarSkate packages. Zoom links will be emailed out to all registrants prior to the start date.

Qualifications for each session are also available on our website now.

UPDATED POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

All SCBC programming will follow Skate Ontario Return-to-Play policies and procedures which can be found at: https://skateontario.org/covid-19-info-centre/. We will also continue to work closely with the City of Brampton operations staff to follow all guidelines set out by Peel Public Health. If you have any questions regarding our adjusted policies and procedures due to COVID-19 please reach out to SCBC Operations Coordinator Andrea Nesbitt:[email protected]. Important information regarding facility entry and exit doors and updated policies and procedures will be emailed out to all program registrants prior to the week of September 8th.

Thank you again to all of our members for your patience and understanding while we navigate these new policies and procedures and ensure a safe return to the ice for all our skaters.

Looking forward to seeing you again on the ice soon.

Regards,
SCBC Staff and Board
