SCBC Covid-19 Update: February 9th

To our valued members,

As many of you have heard, the Province of Ontario announced this week that they will begin a phased easing of Covid-19 restrictions by region. Currently there are tentative plans for Peel region to re-enter the colour-coded reopening framework as of February 22nd.

At this time we are uncertain of which “zone” Peel region will be re-entering the framework at. Based on the previous framework, we will be able to resume on-ice training once Peel is in the Red – Control zone. We will continue to stay in close contact with the Province, City of Brampton, and Skate Ontario as more information becomes available.

Plans are currently in place for SCBC to offer an 8 week program that includes on-ice and off-ice (via zoom) training. As soon as we have information on the target date for Peel to re-enter the Red-Control zone, we will provide more details regarding start dates, registration, and program fees.

We look to the future with optimism and are hopeful that we will be able to resume on-ice programming soon. SCBC will continue to update members on any changes to the situation and plans to move forward. We encourage you to follow our social media channels @SkateSCBC on Instagram and Facebook. You can also visit the Skate Ontario website and the City of Brampton website for up to date information on how they are handling the situation.

The SCBC Office remains closed through the duration of the facility closure and we will continue to monitor emails during this time. If you have any other questions please contact Operations Coordinator Andrea Nesbitt at [email protected].

We look forward to remaining in touch and to hopefully seeing everyone back at the rink doing what we love soon.
