To our valued SCBC skaters and families,
We hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend.
This morning we were informed that the City of Brampton has made the decision to put a cap on the number of individuals permitted for all indoor athletic training at a given time. While initially informed that the Provincial government regulation changes for Peel wouldn’t affect our programming, the municipality made the difficult decision this morning to move forward with lowering the max numbers permitted in indoor training facilities. This is effective immediately.
As a result of this announcement, we are in the process of re-distributing our sessions and working on a schedule that will accommodate all current StarSkate students. This process will take some time and as such we are cancelling all regular sessions from Tuesday, October 13th through Friday, October 16th. Your accounts will be credited for these missed sessions.
StarSkate sessions will begin again this Saturday, October 17th once our new schedule has been prepared and communicated to all members.
An update regarding our CanSkate program will come shortly.
We are also evaluating options for our scheduled StarSkate Assessment Day on October 22nd and will be communicating next steps for this shortly. Ticket ice sessions are still running this week at a reduced capacity.
Thank you for your patience and flexibility while we work hard to continue to provide safe training opportunities for our athletes. Please continue check your email inboxes frequently for any further updates. We hope you are enjoying your “extended” Thanksgiving break! We appreciate your commitment and dedication to SCBC and the sport of skating during these uncertain times.
