SCBC is pleased to continue with another virtual off-ice program for May. This comprehensive program will provide skaters the opportunity to stay engaged and active while we are away from the rink.
Back for the month of May, we are excited to once again offer our Saturday Seminar classes with a very exciting roster of guest instructors.
This program is open to skaters at the Bronze level or higher.
FITNESS
A 45min interval style fitness session that focuses on strength, cardio and core. All exercises are adaptable to suit any fitness level. Offered 3x per week.
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
Gold/Platinum/Dance: 4:30 – 5:15pm
Bronze/Silver: 5:30 – 6:15pm

OFF ICE JUMP CLASS
A 30min session that focuses on improving fast-twitch exercises, spatial awareness, body control, and quickening rotational speed. Offered twice a week.
Tuesdays and Thursdays
*Skaters will be placed into a session based on recommendation by the coaching staff and current jumps they are working on. Session times will be between 4:30pm and 6:00pm.

SATURDAY SEMINARS
A rotating roster of instructors featuring classes such as yoga, dance, pilates and flexibility. Instructors and classes will be announced as they are confirmed. Offered once a week.

Bronze/Silver: 11:15 – 12:15pm
Gold/Platinum/Dance: 12:30 – 1:30pm
Saturday, May 1st: Core & Flexibility with Kaetlyn Osmond
World Champion, Olympic Champion and 3-time Olympic medalists Kaetlyn Osmond will be leading the skaters through a flexibility and core strengthening class.
Saturday, May 8th: Ballet with Lubov Ilyushechkina
Born in Russian, Lubov competed for Canada in the Pairs event for many years and is a 4x Canadian National medalist. She has represented Canada at several international events and world championships. She will be teaching a ballet for figure skaters class.
Saturday, May 15th: Skipping for Figure Skaters with Jennifer from Brampton Acro Ropers
The Brampton Acro Ropers are a competition skipping team from Brampton, Ontario, Canada. One of their coaches will be teaching a fundamentals of skipping class that skaters can use for an off-ice warmup routine. Skipping ropes and an open space required for this class.
Saturday, May 29th: Yoga with Marianne Jezerinac
We are thrilled to have Marianne from Power Yoga Canada returning this month to teach a yoga for figure skaters class.
**Please note there is no class on May 22nd due to the May long weekend.
Cost: $40.00
ALL-INCLUSIVE PACKAGE
An all-inclusive package that provides access to all fitness, jump classes, and Saturday Seminars is also available.
Cost: $64.00
All off-ice programs begin May 1st (Saturday) and run through until May 31st (Monday).
Registration opens on Monday, April 26th at 9:00am and closes on Thursday, April 29th at 11:59pm.

All sessions will be conducted via zoom. Skaters are strongly encouraged to have their cameras turned on for all sessions so that instructors can provide feedback and ensure participants are moving safely. Classes are best taken in a room that provides enough space for participants to move freely. Running shoes are required and yoga mats are strongly recommended.
Participants are asked to log-on to all classes at least 5-10min in advance. Zoom links will be emailed out on Friday, April 30th.
